  CE-THERM-R1 is the thermal analysis portion of CE-QUAL-R1, and designed for simplifying simulation of water budgets and temperature profiles. CE-THERM-R1 includes the variables of temperature, suspended solids, and total dissolved solids. CE-QUAL-R1 is a research tool for reservoir ecosystem snalysis used by the water quality modeling group, U.S. ACE Waterways Experiment Station.

ODU_THERM is an ODU port of 'CE-THERM-R1', the thermal analysis portion of 'CE-QUAL-R1' used for the temperature startification & DO water quality modeling in the Lake Moomaw, VA, a project sponsored by USACE Norfolk District. Source codes were ported to Sun Solaris Fortran 77 (ver. 4.0). All codes are compliant to the standard ANSI X3-9-1978 Fortran 77 standard, ISO 1539-1980, FIPS 69-1, BS 6832, and MIL-STD-1753, and should be compiled by any standard ANSI F77 compiler. All vendor-specific library or function calls were either removed or substituted with standard F77 routines in order to ensure the maximum portability among heterogeneous OSs and platforms.

Several major modifications has been made on CE-THERM-R1, 3/21/90 version after porting to Sun Solaris platform including interactive I/O stream management, error trapping for extensive debugging process, and process logging functionality.

ODU_THERM model files including fortran sources, sample data/output, Makefile, data format specification are tar-ed and gzipped using GNU Gunzip.

For gunzip'd and tar'd (i.e., bundled & compressed) Unix files, please use

$ gzip -dc [file.tar.gz] | tar xvf -

to uncompress & restore directories/files.

If you don't have GNU 'gunzip' installed in your system, please download GNU gzip program (GNU gzip 1.2.4 (tar file)) first, then uncompress the gunzip'd and tar'd model files.
