Founded in 1682, Norfolk is a city of some 241,000 residents and more than 100 diverse neighborhoods. It is the cultural, educational, business and medical center of Hampton Roads, hosts the region's international airport and is one of the busiest international ports on the East Coast of the United States. City Hall is located near the Elizabeth River and in the city's vibrant urban center. One of our new and exciting projects is a commuter light rail line that is coming soon. This position (#5873) is a advanced professional engineering position that involve a variety of traffic signal engineering analysis and signal design. This includes but is not limited to traffic signal modeling, re-timing and working with the Norfolk Smart Traffic Center staff regarding the day to day signal system operation. The Traffic Signal Engineering Position includes an excellent benefit package, job security, free parking and paid holidays.

The salary range is $48,828 - $78,058 per year, depending on your qualifications. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree with major coursework in civil engineering and two years of progressive professional experience preferably in traffic engineering. You are required to have a valid driver's license and an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification, or equivalent.
